JOB DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES (SUMMARY):
- Reviewing demand from Marketing (sales orders) and ensure that planner per division meet time line demand with
resources necessary (Machines & raw material)
Resource 1: Machine planning by knowing:
- Output per size or type
- Batching customer demands to decrease size change but still meeting deadline
- Manpower availability
- Planning for standard downtime (change over times, loading times, etc.)
Resource 2: Raw material
- Ordering raw material by reviewing total size mix, compare with BOM, review material required vs on hand, incoming,
and required to order
- By knowing each commodity movement detail, actual, average, and highest and keeping the lead time in mind, reviewing
and placing orders for safety stock, and for possible differences on the forecast vs actual sales
- Knowing and understanding, planning deliveries for the packaging materials drums and lagging only; and delivering in
batches to ensure low levels, but enough to make provision in case of production sudden increase, weekend production etc.
Resource 3: Other
- Reviewing of capacity requirements and check where we need more shifts to support demand, or do proposals on how to
move manpower to alternative machine for more shifts to assist with short term bottleneck
- Updating of SYSPRO, all MPS and non-MPS items with regards to EBQ’s, lead times, descriptions, interface links like
resource codes, alternative references to support ODBC Excel reports to meet report format outcome
- Production capturing using SYSPRO – production sheets are completed on each shift for each drum/ item manufactured
and these line are captured on SYSPRO by doing a kit issue against the created Bill of Material and labor operations number
- Stock take: daily production bookings – stock count is done at month end and captured, the final capturing and
comparing is done monthly or every three months pending which division. Variances then reviewed and investigated. Relevant jobs are also closed and cost allocated to relevant ledger
codes.
- Generating reports to assist with functions –Production reports, raw material reports, usage reports, scrap reports
and/ or any type of report to assist meeting goals
- Drawing up and managing expense budget
MINIMUM
REQUIREMENTS:
- Degree, Diploma in Supply Chain Management/ Economics/ Business administration.
- Postgraduate Qualifications are
preferred
- 5 years’ experience within a similar role (Manufacturing environment)
- 5 years’ planning and/ or Supply Chain senior level experience (Manufacturing environment)
- Extensive forecasting experience
- Knowledge of technical specification of all products as well as knowledge of machine capabilities
- Experience working with SYSPRO and ODBC
- Experience in budgeting, setting targets and reporting on performance
