JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (SUMMARY):

• Manage the manufacturing process in order to meet business and customer requirements in an effective and efficient manner
• Manage and improve the production facility to the safety and environmental standards as directed by Law, Legislation and Company policies and procedures
• Manage and improve production facility to quality requirements as dictated by company quality policy, customer specifications and procedures
• Creating and driving a culture where manufacturing a product conforming to agreed quality specification is “top of mind”
• Manage and improve the physical and intellectual ability of subordinates to meet company and individual objectives with complete fulfillment
• Manage and improve the utilization of company resources to optimize f=efficiency levels, to ensure minimum return on capital employed
• Establish a mindset of innovation and creative participation with sustained customer satisfaction as primary goal
• Compile and motivate plant specific Budgets, both Operational and Capital Expenditure
• Control all costs, related to the operation, within budget and reporting variances with reasons and defined corrective action where possible
• Compile and timely submission of reports and relevant documentation in line with business requirements
• Lead, coach and develop team members to improve performance and personal capacity
• Ensure that effective people development and performance management programs are implemented throughout the department, taking future organizational requirements into account

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Degree in Engineering field/ B Tec (advantage)
• Degree in production/ industrial engineering
• Tertiary qualification in production management or business administration
• 3+ Years’ experience in a similar position or higher (Cable Manufacturing industry is advantage)
• Project management experience

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:          

• Knowledge and understanding of business principles
• Knowledge and understanding of industry labour standards\
• Attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects
• Able to multi-task, work to deadlines and deliver results
• Knowledge of the following ISO systems: 14001:2015, 9001:2015, 45001:2016
